My first blog post

Dear Friends,

I have wanted a blog of my own for a couple of years and now I have done it. This blog will include everything that I believe to be beneficial to the readers in their professional and / or personal lives.

Today please allow myself to share a message with everyone:

The more we know about ourselves, the happier we become in general.

Background:
People are constantly conditioned to seek wealth, fame, possession and every other "external" means in order to be feeling good. Little do we know that this "external" approach works only in short term. In 1991 I bought my first "luxury" car, a Mercedes Benz, the wonderful feeling of success lasted three month before I felt stalled again. In 1995 I built a custom home costing over $600,000 over looking the entire Tualatin Valley on Skyline blvd in Portland, Oregon. Again, the thrill I experienced lasted no more than six months before I felt dissatisfied again and wanting for more.

The truth is with any "external means" we can only be satisfied in short term. I am sure most of you can relate to it. Through years of study and learning, I have come to the conclusion that the secrete path to prolonged happiness resides in the land of "internal" means.

Instead of looking outward for things that will make us happy, we have to look inward. This is why I posted the main message above. The first step to happiness in life is to truly understand / know oneself. The more we know about our own strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, things we are good at or not, and then make daily decisions based on these findings, the better our lives will be in general.

In year 2000, after 12 years in business selling computer systems, I went on a "career bungee jump" and become a multimedia producer because I wanted to associate myself more with artists and less with businessmen. I wanted to create using computer technologies rather than selling a piece of hardware. Now I am doing something I enjoy all the time. There are challenges still but these are the challenges I enjoy to take on. My life has been 100% better ever since.

So the lesson is a happy life does not mean a life without problems or challenges. It is the life in which we enjoy the challenges as rewards. And that is the life I want for myself!

Happy living.
